After hitting a near-record low versus the euro during the week, the US dollar recovered a bit as the week ended but still closed out the week behind against the euro and sterling, while also losing ground against currencies from oil producers as oil prices went higher.
The dollar dropped 0.3 percent over the week to $2.0140 in relation to sterling, while it fell 0.6 percent to $1.3630 versus the euro and was 1.5 percent lower against both the Canadian dollar and the Norwegian krone, to C$1.0465 and NKr5.8020 respectively.
The dollar was steady for the week versus the yen, to ¥123.10.
The Japanese currency declined over the week as well, losing 0.4 percent to ¥247.95 in relation to sterling and dropping 0.8 percent to ¥167.90 in relation to the euro.
The yen lost even more to the Australian and New Zealand dollars, falling 1.1 percent to ¥105.60 versus the Australian currency and declining 1.8 percent to ¥96.60 against the New Zealand dollar.
