David Woodsmith - Editor-At-Large

David opted for a career in finance over football. Having played in the West Ham United youth team he thought the long term gains in a financial career would prove more fruitful than that of a short lived football one. Due to his football commitments it wasn’t until his late teens that David developed his interest in foreign exchange and became an intern at an investment bank before moving to a private bank in Jersey before heading back to the capital. David time is split across the Atlantic between Boston and London where he works as a foreign currency exchange adviser for a FTSE 100 company. David still plays football locally and keeps fit at his local gym in West London in his spare time.

Ben Hughes - Author

Ben left the shores of the UK after completing a degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University and was able to get an internship at a fund house in New York where he worked his way up the ranks and became a fund manager. Having been there for just over a decade though, he was realizing how much he missed the UK and headed back just before the recession hit in 2007. Having made a successful career and name for himself, Ben was in a position to gain investment and set up his own foreign exchange company with an old University friend who previously worked in the FX markets. The firm now employs over 50 people and is looking to open an office in New York later this year. Outside of the currency world Ben spends time at the race track where he has a share in 3 horses, 1 of which is in this year’s Grand National so he might be able to give you a tip or two!
